New AI Features in Google Ads and Analytics

Google has officially rolled out a set of new AI tools across Google Ads and Google Analytics, all built on Gemini. The announcement landed on August 10, 2026; the features are in beta and available to English-language accounts. The common thread is shrinking the path from data to action: the system highlights what changed and suggests where to look.
Here's what arrived. In Google Analytics, "AI Overviews" surface summaries of the important shifts since your last login — seasonal peaks, traffic swings — right on the homepage, and you can click a card to drop into Ask Advisor for a deeper read; notifications can go to email or phone. Analytics also gains benchmarking that compares your campaigns against anonymized averages from similar businesses. In Google Ads, the homepage was rebuilt around personalized insight cards plus a prompt box where you can request a specific cut in plain text — say, competitor impact or impression-share trends. Visual dashboards build from a text prompt and explain what drove the result; Analytics gets them later. The official post was published on the Google blog.
"Ask Advisor has become my go-to for a directional check on paid media performance," says Kevin Marshall, Paid Media Director at Gardyn.
- less manual analysis: summaries and dashboards assemble from a single text prompt;
- benchmarks give a reference point when you can't tell if your result is good or just average;
- English accounts only for now — non-English teams may want to keep the interface in EN to get access sooner.
For agencies and in-house teams this speeds up the routine rather than replacing strategy: AI shows "what happened," but deciding "what to do" is still on you.
